In order to obtain a REAL ID you will need to provide proof of identity/lawful presence in the United States, your social security number and two proofs of your current Oklahoma address. All documents must be originals and in printed, non-electronic format.
Real ID has a 4 year credential option and a 8 year credential option. The 8 year credential option will cost twice as much as the 4 year credential for first time applications and renewals.
The fees are as follows for the 4 year credential option:
- First Real ID: $42.50
- Renewal: $38.50
- Replace: $25

A REAL ID is a new form of identification that has its own documentation requirements. A REAL ID driver’s license or identification card is optional. However, Starting May3, 2023, all states will be issuing Real ID compliant licenses. We recommend Real ID above Standard ID.
A REAL ID is needed if:
1. Use to board domestic flights after the new May 3rd, 2023 deadline
2. Enter military bases and secure federal facilities.
If you want to continue to use a U.S. passport, U.S. passport card, military ID, enhanced driver’s license, or other federally accepted identification for the above purposes, you do not need to get a REAL ID, however, it is recommended.
